The relationship between Prince William and his brother has been strained for years.
Harry's book "Spare" might make this worse.
In it, the prince describes how William once attacked him.
Montecito - Once inseparable, Prince Harry, 38, and Prince William, 40, grew up in the public eye as trusted royal siblings.
But in recent years, the brotherly love between the two seems to have given way to an ice age.
Especially after Harry and his wife Meghan Markle (41) left the palace, the princes are clearly distanced – even though they have welded together so many tragic and beautiful milestones throughout their lives.

When Harry and Meghan signed contracts with on-demand platform Netflix and publisher Random House after moving to the US state of California, there was concern among experts that the projects could lead to serious revelations about the royals.
Finally, in 2021, Meghan Markle spoke openly about her experience with racism in the royal family in an interview with Oprah Winfrey (68).
After the Netflix documentary "Harry & Meghan", which was less explosive than expected, Harry's memoirs "Spare" will be released on January 10th - which, according to a first excerpt, fire sharply against the royal family, especially his brother William.

Now the Duke of Sussex has revealed in his book "Spare" that William once attacked him - and had previously taunted Meghan Markle.

A few days before the start of sales of the autobiography, the title of which alludes to the phrase "The Prince and the Spare", the British magazine
The Guardian
published a first passage of the controversial work.
In it, Harry describes in great detail an altercation with Prince William that is said to have taken place in 2019 at a meeting at Harry's then-home Nottingham Cottage.
The heir to the throne is said to have first described his sister-in-law Meghan Markle as "difficult", "unfriendly" and "rude" and a short time later, after the conversation had further escalated, physically attacked his younger brother in his kitchen.

On January 10, 2023, Prince Harry's memoirs "Spare" will be published by Random House - but these prove to be controversial even before publication.
Although the work is described as an honest look back at Harry's life and experiences, many royals pundits reckon it could also be a harsh critique of British royalty.
Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8th, 2022 and a resulting wave of public skepticism towards the British monarchy, this could have devastating consequences.
"The British Royal Family (...) must earn and keep the respect of the public," explains Royals author Valentine Low, "If this is ever damaged in any fundamental or permanent way, it could be very serious."

'He threw me to the ground': Prince Harry recalls confrontation with William in 'Spare' book
"It all happened very quickly. so fast He grabbed my collar, ripped my necklace and threw me to the ground," Harry recalls of the confrontation, "I landed on the dog bowl, which broke under my back as the shards sliced into me. I lay there in a daze for a moment, then got up and told him to go."
William returned shortly after to apologize and asked Harry not to tell Meghan about the incident, but as the Duchess of Sussex finally discovered wounds on her husband's body, he told them.

It stands to reason that Prince William and Prince Harry's complicated relationship will suffer further damage after the release of Spare - although a passage at the beginning of the book is
critical of King Charles III , according to
The Guardian .
In it, Harry should look at Charles' supposed first words to Lady Di († 36) after his birth: "Wonderful!
Now you've given me a prince and a surrogate - my job is done.
