In the news center:

Senior Israeli officials said that Dermer's visit is expected to involve initial coordination between the Biden administration and the Israeli government on a series of issues such as Iran, the Palestinian issue and the normalization process with the Arab world.

Dermer's talks in Washington take place about a week before the arrival of National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in the White House for a visit to Jerusalem during which he will meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu and other senior officials.

What they say:

On Friday, Sullivan said in an interview with American Public Radio that during his visit to Israel he will make it clear that the Biden administration is committed to Israel's security and that he intends to discuss with Netanyahu the Iranian threat and the opportunities facing the Arab world.

"We continue to support the two-state solution and will oppose policies and measures that undermine the chance of realizing it in the future or that harm the status quo in Jerusalem. I will be very clear and direct (with Netanyahu) on these issues," said Sullivan.

The White House and the Prime Minister's Office have yet to respond.
