The mood and the dance routines were particularly boisterous after the long Corona break.

Pöcking – He is the “searching prince”, she is his “enchanted princess”.

Together, Deniz Türkmen I. and Victoria Curth I. from the Pöckinger Faschingsclub (PFC) took over the carnival regency on Saturday evening.

This was celebrated together with around 150 guests, a diverse show program and live music in the Beccult Hall.

Mayor Rainer Schnitzler symbolically presented the two and the child prince couple, Irianyi Holzweißig Perez I and Matteo Flath I, with the key to the town hall.

It started at 8 p.m. when the sounds of “United” by Alex Christensen and “The Berlin Orchestra” rang out.

Individually, the dancers stepped out from behind the red curtain.

Finally came PFC President Stephanie Lörke.

"We are reunited, as you could just hear in the intro," said Lörke.

“It feels like after a long dry spell.

And everyone who celebrates the carnival will certainly feel with us.”

After a long period of renunciation and experiments, such as the live stream last year, the Garden and Princes are allowed to perform live again this year.

"The stream via You-Tube wasn't so nice for everyone," said Corinna Minzapost.

She is the cousin of Prince Deniz Türkmen and managed the bar in the foyer on Saturday.

"Online, the dancers didn't get any feedback through applause and didn't even know how many were watching."

That was different on Saturday.

The audience greeted the dancers with thunderous applause, and the people in the hall even danced themselves. Former prince couple Julia Zachmann and Markus Repert opened the dance floor in the classic way with a Viennese waltz and then crowned the new couple together with the former child prince couple Emilia Beck and Maximo Flath.

"I had a lot of fun in my 2020 season," said former child princess Emilia Beck.

"We've been to a lot of events.

For example in the German theater as well.” About 20 to 30 performances are now waiting for the dancers, for the royal couples there are even more, according to trainer Sabine Türkmen.

She has been on the Elferrat committee for four years and trains both the Kindergarde and the royal couples.

Based on the Disney film Moana, the eleven girls between the ages of six and twelve from the children's guard performed Türkmen's choreography together with Irianyi and Matteo: The children's prince couple is on two different islands.

They try to find each other and then celebrate a big party together.

"Our motto this year is 'You decide who you are,'" said Türkmen.

"The kids had to cut back a lot and mature as a result, and now they have to decide for themselves who they want to be in life." She chose the color turquoise for the costumes.

"Each guard has its own idea and color," says Türkmen.

"All Guard costumes for 43 years are in the fundus, some can be reused or tailored."

After the children's guard, the five dancers of the youth guard "Mini Mania" performed by trainer Franziska Schwarz.

They presented a partly brisk, partly slow choreography to various well-known oldies.

After another round of audience dancing, the eleven active members of the show dance group “The Dancing Mania” presented their show “Another Story of Cinderella”.

Prince Deniz I. slipped into the role of the prince, Victoria I. that of Cinderella.

The group skilfully danced the fairy tale in which a prince, looking for a wife, invites all the girls to a ball.

Cinderella also sneaks into the ball in secret, in a magical dress whose magic disappears at midnight.

It takes a lot for the love of the two to get a chance

which Türkmen and Curth express through slow and fast parts and numerous lifting figures.

The live band played until well after midnight and invited the guests to dance.

The black and white ball will take place in the Beccult on Saturday.

The carnival final sprint from February 16th to 21st is also planned there.

Tickets are available on 01 77/77 99 31 4 or by email to karten@pfc.de.
