VIDEO. Ukraine: a bombed market near Kharkiv, the prefect denounces a “war crime”

The attack left at least two women dead and injured a 10-year-old child, Ukrainian authorities said Monday (January 9th).


Two days after the end of a ceasefire unilaterally decided by Vladimir Putin for Orthodox Christmas, the market in the village of Shevchenkove was bombed, killing at least two women, Ukrainian authorities reported on Monday 9 January.

“The enemy has again deliberately struck a civilian target: the local market.

There are no military personnel in Shevchenkove.

If it was not a Monday today, there would be many more victims,” denounced Oleh Synehoubov, prefect of the Kharkiv region where the locality is located.

“We were lucky because the stores were closed but passers-by were injured,” laments a resident.

“The last few weeks have been a little calmer.

I did not expect something like this to happen again, ”comments another, devastated, a few meters from the huge crater formed by the impact of the missile, a ground-to-air S-300.

The prefect announced the imminent opening of an investigation for "crime against humanity".
