There are several celebrations this year in the parish of St. Vitus Stockdorf.

But there was also a warning at the New Year's reception.

Stockdorf

- About 40 Stockdorfers, but also Gauting's mayor Dr.

Yesterday, Brigitte Kössinger attended the New Year's reception in the St. Vitus parish home - which made the parish council chairwoman Elisabeth Berger-Pöschl happy.

Because in 2023 there will be anniversaries: the Stockdorf sexton, choir director and organist Lydia Dellermann will be honored for five decades of "service with passion" (March 11), parish vicar Dr.

Guy-Angelo Kangosa celebrates his 25th jubilee as a priest in August and the second St. Vitus Church in Stockdorf on Waldstrasse celebrates its 70th anniversary on November 1st.

It is not so easy to win the younger generation over to the church these days, the chairperson explained.

That's why she thanks Katharina Vilgertshofer and her daughter Eleonora Pöschl (15) all the more for being involved in youth work and carol singers.

But Daniel Ibrahim also thanked her: The 16-year-old student had musically framed the celebration, which had been canceled in two Corona years, with his piano playing.

Only one church wedding in 2022

"If you have something on your mind - come to us," appealed the newly elected parish councilor Manfred Deckert and church nurse Eva Wosnitzka.

She acts as a link to the Stockdorf parish council, to the Planegg parish association, as a contact person for senior citizens and chairwoman of the branch association of the Catholic Women's Association.

Three children were baptized in St. Vitus in 2022, 19 girls and boys celebrated their first communion, Elisabeth Berger-Pöschl reported.

There was "unfortunately" only one church wedding last year, 16 Stockdorf Catholics died in 2022.

"With great pleasure" Eva Wosnitzka has been taking care of the finances as a church nurse for a decade.

In 2022 the organ of the new church was overhauled.

Thanks to a generous donation from Stockdorfer Dr.

Günter Rittmann said the fresco on the historic St. Vitus Church in the town center had been restored.

Thanks to Mayor Kössinger, she found 26 needy people who were supported by the Caritas collection "Stockdorfer für Stockdorfer", according to the church nurse.

After the difficult pandemic years, it was important "that you come to the St. Vitus Church of the Planegg Parish Association for the common mass".

Otherwise there is a risk that the church will be closed, warned Eva Wosnitzka.

Pastor Johannes von Bonhorst also gave a New Year's speech at the reception.
