With the New Year begins a new term of office in the City Youth Council.

In the past two years there has been a great achievement of the young politicians: the former Stockschützenheim, now called "Amperium", was handed over to the young people.

Fürstenfeldbruck – The new year is already a few days old and has a new task in store for five young people from Fürstenfeldbruck: Christopher Witte, Katharina Bucher, Leevi Raff, Malou Pereira de Azambuja and Kleo Leike were newly elected to the City Youth Council (SJR) in October.

Together with the "old hands" Korbinian Butterer, Emily Reeb as well as Valentin and Fabian Eckmann, they want to campaign politically for the youth in the city in the next two years.

Own meeting place

In the past two years, the young people have been able to look back on one thing in particular, in addition to graffiti campaigns and video messages for the Bundestag elections: their own meeting place with a large outdoor area that offers many sports facilities such as football and basketball.

At the beginning of 2021, the Committee for Integration, Social Affairs, Youth and Sport placed the former Stockschützengelände in the hands of the SJR.

This initially caused resentment among the clubs, which would also have been interested in the area.

But in July, after a round table discussion with clubs such as the fishing club, the ADFC and the TuS rugby players, it was agreed that they could use the area.

FFB newsletter.)

The city youth council itself also used its new accommodation for the monthly meetings.

But for a long time there was no name for the area on Klosterstraße, which was so often referred to as the "former Stockschützenareal".

So the young people around the chairman Korbinian Butterer decided to organize a competition to find a name.

In the spring of 2022, the result was clear: "Amperium" is the name of the SJR meeting not far from the Amper.

opening ceremony

However, there has not yet been a big opening ceremony - the corona pandemic in particular had prevented this in the past.

That should change soon, reveals Korbinian Butterer, who will remain in office until the new elections on Wednesday, January 11th.

"We have planned a big opening ceremony," says the 18-year-old.

And probably on June 23rd.

There should be various sports offers, in which, among other things, the clubs present and offer activities.

Visitors can let off steam around the new soccer goals and basketball hoops.

And the volleyball court may also be ready by June.

"The pit has been dug and the sand is already there," says Butterer.

Local act

Another celebratory premiere is to be celebrated on the site with the "Amperium Open Air".

"This will be the biggest action of the city youth council this year," says the SJR chairman.

"We want to bring local acts to the open air, including the band Saustoi." Butterer estimates that a large part of the SJR's budget would probably go to the open air.

Smaller campaigns, such as videos for the mayoral election, are also planned.

His review of the past two years is positive.

"In principle, I am satisfied with the past year, the entire legislative period, and I'm looking forward to the current year," says Butterer.

He is almost certain that he will be re-elected chairman of the young politicians on Wednesday.

The City Youth Council

meets on Wednesday, January 11, at 5 p.m. for the constitutive session in the wedding hall of the old town hall.

On the public agenda is the farewell to the retired city youth councillors, the presentation of the new ones and the election of the chairman.
