"Putin already strategically defeated": Kiev's ex-intelligence chief still expects "difficult times"

In the Ukraine war, an ex-Kyiv secret service chief already considers Putin "strategically defeated".
But now you need more Western help.
Munich – For the troops of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, the Ukraine war went well at the beginning.
But now it's crumbling everywhere.
Its soldiers are inadequate and poorly equipped, military successes are lacking and now there are even explosions on Russian territory.

The Ukrainian army general and former head of the foreign intelligence service Mykola Malomusch is certain in view of the current situation: Putin has already been "strategically defeated," he told the Ukrainian news portal

"He failed to implement his plans to conquer all of Ukraine, capture of certain areas, all of Donbass, the south of our country," Malomusch said.
The "miscalculation" and "Putin's real defeat" are obvious.
The turning point in the war came in several phases, such as the defense of Kyiv and Kharkiv and the reconquest of Cherson.
Now there could be further Ukrainian offensives "in the south of the Zaporizhia and Cherson areas up to the Crimea" in winter and spring.
An offensive in the direction of Luhansk and strikes against Russian troops in Donetsk "to liberate Donbass" are also to be expected, said the former intelligence chief.

At the same time, however, Malomusch warned that it would not be easy to achieve the goal of expelling Russia.

After all, Moscow is aware of the impending defeat and is therefore increasing production: "The Russian military-industrial complex works around the clock, producing ballistic missiles and other weapons and equipment, modernizing and repairing old equipment."
This is where military aid from the West comes into play for Malomusch.
The US, UK and EU countries like Germany, Italy, Spain and France would have to provide "strong military support".
"But this help has to be quick," warned the former secret service agent, adding: If we delay this process, Russia will accumulate resources, use its armed forces and it will become a difficult war." Therefore, the "question of time" is of particular importance.
Aid that was too slow would give Russia a head start, said Malomusch.

He acknowledged the Western aid that had already been provided.
However, he urged Western countries to do more.
"Strategically, the West is ready for Ukraine's complete victory, but I believe it is not doing enough to ensure that victory is quick," the Ukrainian army general underscored.

"We need not dozens, but hundreds of missile systems, tanks, armored personnel carriers and air defense systems," he said.

Malomusch also questioned the mindset of Western countries: "As I understand it, it is to the West's advantage if Ukraine exhausts Russia's resources for a long time."
However, this is “the wrong tactic, it is a victim tactic”.
It only means that Russia can continue to set up resources.
Only with "more active support" for Ukraine in its current state could there be "clearer parameters for victory".
This help must arrive very soon: "I emphasize, not in months, but in weeks." Germany now wants to deliver Marder tanks and a Patriot system to Ukraine.
