The citizens' initiative Irschenberg invites you to an information evening with an open exchange, which will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, from 7 p.m. at the Kramerwirt in Irschenberg.

It's not just about the requested gravel pit in Oberhasling, because of which BI was founded a year ago, but also about the planned new construction of the sewage treatment plant.

In an interview, BI spokesman Florian Kories explains why she is now broadening the topic of the initiative.

Mr. Kories, your BI invites you to an information evening.

It is aimed at all citizens.

Why?

On the one hand, we want to inform you about the current status of gravel mining and clarify the extent.

And we want to show again what options the community has to steer the project with a land use plan.

The municipality is working on an urban planning contract at the same time.

Yes.

Therefore we also want to show why a land use plan makes more sense for the citizens.

Because an urban development contract suits the dismantling company much better than planning.

With the sewage treatment plant, BI is now also addressing a topic that has absolutely nothing to do with gravel extraction.

Why?

In the past year we have found that the flow of information towards the citizens can be improved.

The sewage treatment plant is the municipality's most expensive project.

Work has been going on since 2016, but everything is still unclear.

Nothing is known about the costs.

It is clear that special contributions are waiting for the citizens.

On what scale?

We think it's important to talk about it as early as possible.

This also includes the question of how citizens can get more involved.

Mayor Klaus Meixner saw this as a blanket criticism of the community and council.

Is he right?

no

We've been trying to get in touch with the community for a year.

But we got little or no replies.

From our side, the offer of dialogue is always there, also in the future, but we are dissatisfied when we don't get any answers.

We invited to the exchange in November.

Nine council members plus the mayor didn't react at all, didn't even cancel.

It's not about working against each other.

We offer the openness we wish for ourselves.

Therefore, the mayor and council members are invited again this time.
