Patrol car gone astray: A police officer overlooked a staircase at Friedrichsplatz in Kassel.

The picture finds many fans on the Internet.

Cars aren't usually made for going down stairs.

A police officer at Friedrichsplatz recently discovered that this also applies to patrol cars.

His vehicle got stuck on the steps leading from Friedrichsplatz to Steinweg.

What was happening there?

A photo shows a patrol car that has already landed on the sidewalk of Steinweg with its front, but the rear is still on Friedrichsplatz – four steps in height difference between them, as reported by HNA.de.

These steps cannot even be described as real stairs.

For a Mercedes station wagon, however, there is a rather unfavorable parking position.

"Harleshausen-Benni (12) thought he was playing GTA and sat in the police car for a moment," says the "Kassel Memes" Instagram account, from where the image of the patrol car in the city center went viral.

Among other things, curious incidents from Kassel are collected there, which users send in there.

"Harleshausen-Benni" could be translated from the youth language as a child from a wealthy suburban family.

In the computer game Grand Theft Auto (GTA) you can steer your vehicle through different game worlds.

In the Kassel case, however, it was not an uninformed driver who thought he was in a computer game, but a police officer who apparently noticed the steps too late or not as such during a patrol, police spokesman Matthias Mänz confirms.

A similar thing happened to an Opel driver when he blindly followed his navigation system.

Fortunately, because the vehicle was traveling at walking speed, nothing happened to anyone.

The patrol car was also only slightly damaged and the officers were able to free themselves from the unfortunate situation.

This Mercedes also gets stuck on a staircase, users wonder how it got there.

Police car photo makes people laugh

Since everyone is doing well, one can look at the mishap in retrospect with a slight wink, says Mänz.

He too has received the picture several times since Wednesday afternoon.

The colleague will probably have to reckon with one or the other saying not only from the group of colleagues.

But he too will probably be able to smile about it at some point.
