Today (10th) at 12:32 noon, a fire broke out in a nursing home on Tai Po Road, Sham Shui Po. Firefighters arrived at the scene and classified the fire as a second-level fire, and extinguished the fire after 9 minutes.
During the period, many elderly people were evacuated from the building with the help of staff, and three male residents were injured in the fire and sent to the hospital; after investigation by the police, one of the injured was arrested on suspicion of arson, assault and wounding.
According to sources, someone set fire to the house in retaliation after arguing with the residents.
The scene was in the Chak Kwan Building, No. 232 Tai Po Road. According to on-site news, an eighty-year-old male resident had an argument with other residents a few days ago. There were many flames in the old house.

The 74-year-old surnamed Qu and the 79-year-old surnamed Chen suffered burns on their thighs and abrasions on their face respectively; the 80-year-old man surnamed Lin suffered abrasions on his feet and forehead, and was emotional when he was sent to the ambulance by the ambulancemen , kept yelling, and tore off his mask.
After investigation, the police arrested Lin Weng on suspicion of arson, assault and wounding.
