A lot of work awaits the new construction manager

– He's the newcomer to City Hall and yet he's already well known.

Felix Holzner has been in charge of the building authority in the Pastetten administrative community since October 1st.

The 27-year-old succeeds Rüdiger Koppe, who retired after 17 years (we reported).

When he applied in spring 2022, the native of Traunstein was not at all aware that he would quickly take over the executive chair.

"Actually, the position of deputy director was advertised," he says.

At that time he was still firmly in the saddle at the building authority in Vaterstetten in the district of Ebersberg, where he was entrusted with building law and building regulations.

However, the idea of ​​changing to a position with more responsibility matured to such an extent that Holzner submitted his documents in pastettes shortly before the end of the application period.

He was promptly invited to an interview.

"That's when I found out that if everything went right, there was a chance for me to take the job," Holzner recalls.

That was the icing on the cake, because such an offer does not exist that often.

"That really appealed to me, especially being able to make decisions myself in cooperation with the municipal administration," says the young man.

For the new position, in which he was now also confirmed by the VG meeting a few weeks ago, Holzner brings with him a well-founded professional toolkit.

After high school, he completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and worked as a journeyman for three years.

After his boss at the time retired, Holzner attended the construction engineering school, which he successfully completed as a masonry and concrete master builder.

At the same time, he earned a degree as a construction engineer specializing in structural engineering.

The father of 18-month-old twins lives with his partner in Markt Schwaben.

The new head of the building authority could get support from his predecessor Koppe at any time, "we have good contacts," he says.

However, Pastetten's mayor Peter Deischl, Buch's local manager Ferdinand Geisberger and managing director Gottfried Prostmeier are just as much at his side as his immediate employee.

There should still be active help from a deputy.

However, the position is currently still advertised and the deadline is not until January.

Holzner is now looking forward to exciting projects.

At the end of December 2022, he was able to complete a large part of the first major project, which was still on the right track under his predecessor.

The first tenants of the municipal housing complex in Buch have received the keys and moved into their apartments.

The final work on the building is now being tackled.

Right next to the residential building, another current project is growing in the form of the Buch fire station.

The head of the office does not want to say how far this topic has progressed in Pastetten, but does indicate that "preparations and planning for several important construction projects are underway here in the village".

The other projects that Holzner is now taking care of include the building area of ​​Zeilerner Straße Ost and the renewal of Flurstraße.

He is also responsible for the construction of the footpath and cycle path to Markt Schwaben on behalf of the municipality.
