A man lost his life in Mexico City on Sunday after he was allegedly beaten by employees of a famous birria restaurant for refusing to pay a tip, according to Mexican media.
Antonio Monroy, 59, went that night with his partner, Adriana Flores, to the La Polar restaurant, located in the San Rafael neighborhood, in the Cuauhtémoc mayor's office, according to the newspaper El Universal.

The woman said they were physically assaulted and removed from the scene, the statement added.
The woman denounced through social networks that her partner was being beaten by the waiters.
According to his first statements, the man attacked because he refused to pay the amount of tip that the waiters demanded: they asked him to pay the bill (about 1,000 pesos, or $52) plus a 50% tip.
The woman said that they began to beat him when he refused to pay the tip, citing poor service.

The complainant recognized one of the probable perpetrators who participated in the attack, and on Monday
the police arrested a 45-year-old man,
identified as Román Ignacio Torres Ramírez, suspected of having participated in the attack.
According to El Universal, he was the one who encouraged other waiters to hit Monroy.
The Prosecutor's Office is analyzing the possible arrest of another 10 employees and waiters of the place, added the aforementioned media.
On Monday he assured on the social network Twitter that he is investigating the case as an intentional homicide.
The establishment was closed, as announced on Twitter by the mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Sandra Cuevas.
