What was this individual doing, Monday at the end of the day, perched on top of a wagon at Menton Garavan station, near Nice?
This is the whole mystery that hovers over this dramatic affair, and that the police officers in charge of the investigation will have to clear up.
And for good reason, the man in question, whose identity has not yet been determined, was found charred around 6 p.m. by the firefighters of the Alpes-Maritimes fire and rescue operational center, called in an emergency for a fire starting on a train stopped in the station.
“The victim most likely touched the catenary by accident and was electrocuted, starting the fire
,” a police source

During the intervention, train traffic was interrupted in both directions.
Traffic was able to resume in the evening, around 9 p.m.
At this stage of the investigation, it is not unreasonable to think that the victim could be a migrant from Italy.
