A 19-year-old from Jerusalem was arrested last night (Monday) on suspicion of attacking an elderly citizen with his fist in a public park in Givat Ze'ev, near Jerusalem.
According to the suspicion, the man asked him to stop launching explosives on the spot - and in response, the suspect took out the weapon and tried to hit him.
The man was injured and arrived at the hospital on his own.
After the incident, the young man fled the scene, and was arrested in the north of the city.
The investigation material shows that the suspect was wanted for questioning for threatening a woman who refused to be in contact with him, and among other things he sent her a document in which he was photographed with a gun.
His detention was extended by three days.

Last night, a 40-year-old man was moderately injured after being attacked by 14- and 15-year-old boys with an iron crowbar at a playground in Or Yehuda.
The man warned the boys that they were vandalizing public property in the garden on Mordechai Ben Purat Street in the city - and in response he was hit on the head.
An initial investigation revealed that the man woke up the two and took pictures of them vandalizing public facilities in the garden.
They, for their part, asked the victim to delete the photo - and attacked him after he refused.
They beat him with an iron rod until the man lost consciousness.
After a few hours, the two boys were arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.
