The Council of Ministers approved, during its weekly session today, chaired by Engineer Hussein Arnous, the decisions of the Supreme Committee for the conversion to modern irrigation regarding simplifying lending procedures, granting preferential benefits to farmers who convert to modern irrigation, and the need to ensure that the factories producing the requirements of modern irrigation networks conform to the required specifications, and develop an executive work program to oblige Dealing with modern irrigation methods and techniques gradually.

The Council assigned the concerned ministries to submit detailed studies on the reality of forests, their spread, and plans to restore and expand those affected by them, through national afforestation campaigns, the activity of the government industrial sector, the reality of cities and industrial zones, implemented and under implementation facilities, employment and production in them, proposals for developing work in them, and the role they play in terms of their contribution to Securing the need of the local market for many materials and commodities, in addition to the reality of marketing citrus, olive oil, potatoes and pistachios, and the role of the Syrian Trade in the positive intervention and its sales indicators and the stages reached by the process of automating its warehouses.

Engineer Arnous emphasized that all ministries must adhere to the timeline specified for the work centers of the assistant minister, director general, and secretary general of a governorate, and prepare a database in each ministry for qualified cadres and classify them according to the requirements of each work center, pointing out in another context to the need to perform the necessary maintenance to improve the traffic and road reality on the axes ( Damascus-Aleppo) and (Damascus-Latakia) in this year's plan.

With the aim of optimally investing young human cadres and determining the desire and willingness of university graduates to work in the educational sector in order to enable the Ministry of Education to complete its employment plan on the basis of studied data, the Council reviewed the results of an opinion poll that included 3636 public university students about their desire to be appointed as teachers in the Ministry of Education with specializations. Mathematics, science, physics, English and French languages, in the context of seeking to secure the appropriate cadres to ensure the proper functioning of the educational and teaching process at the Ministry of Education.

The Council discussed the draft legislative instrument that regulates the work of joint venture companies in the field of the agricultural sector.

With the aim of enhancing production, developing the productive base, revitalizing the work of these companies, developing their investments, keeping pace with agricultural plans, encouraging companies operating in this sector and giving them greater flexibility to carry out their activities.

The council approved the establishment of two sanitary landfills in the lands of the state forests in the Mashta al-Hilu and al-Qadmus regions in Tartous governorate, with the aim of protecting human and water resources and getting rid of the negative effects of random dumps. It was emphasized that all environmental and technical requirements should be adopted to preserve ground and surface water and assess the environmental impact before taking executive measures. .

He discussed the draft legislative instrument for regulating and caring for children of unknown parentage, based on the principle of solidarity, interdependence, respect for social justice and preserving the dignity of every member of society. He also discussed the draft legislative instrument that includes the dissolution of the Syrian Company for the Distribution of Publications.

The council approved a number of priority service and development projects in a number of governorates.
