Eight years after the incident, a suspect was arrested yesterday (Sunday) in the murder of the Tel Aviv artist Liora Hayut.
Today, a hearing was held at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court to extend the detention of the suspect who murdered animals with the first intent.
The police representative at the hearing stated that this is a murder case of the most serious level.

The suspect's lawyer argued against the extension of his detention, saying that an arrest warrant against him had already been issued last month.
"There were many investigative actions that had to be done before his arrest," the police representative replied, "if we waited 8 years, we could have waited another two weeks."
Finally, the judge decided to extend the suspect's detention by seven days.
Liora Hayut, 42 years old, lived in a studio apartment in Florentine, and was an artist who gave sculpting and creative workshops.
In 2015, an animal was found in her apartment after she was killed in a fire.
For a long time there was no majority whether it was an accident or a deliberate arson.
