The Israel Police is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the death of Liora Hayut, who was found lifeless in her apartment that caught fire in January 2015 in Tel Aviv. As part of the investigation, yesterday (Monday) the investigators of the Crimes Unit (ILF) in the Ayalon area arrested a 31-year-old Tel Aviv resident for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
The suspect's detention was extended at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court until 15.1.23. At the request of the suspect's defense attorney, the High Court forbade the publication of his name and any details that might identify him.
The investigation continues.
Hayut, 42 years old at the time of her death, lived in a studio apartment on the first floor of which she conducted sculpting and creative workshops.
On the second floor was the living room, where the firefighters found her lifeless.
Upon finding her body, Merhav Yiftach police officers began an investigation and the body was transferred to an autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, in order to examine the circumstances of the death.
As mentioned yesterday, there was a dramatic development in the investigation when a suspect involved in the incident was arrested.
