Today (10th) at 12:32 noon, a fire broke out in a nursing home on Tai Po Road, Sham Shui Po. Firefighters arrived at the scene and classified the fire as a second-level fire, and extinguished the fire after 9 minutes.
During the period, many elderly people were evacuated from the building with the help of staff, and three male residents were injured in the fire and sent to the hospital; after investigation by the police, one of the injured was arrested on suspicion of arson.
According to sources, someone set fire to the house in retaliation after arguing with the residents.
The scene was in the Chak Kwan Building, No. 232 Tai Po Road. According to on-site news, an eighty-year-old male resident had an argument with other residents a few days ago. There were many flames in the old house.

In the incident, two 70-year-old residents suffered burns to their thighs and abrasions on their faces, while the 80-year-old resident suspected of arson suffered abrasions to his feet and forehead. All three were sent to the hospital for treatment.
After preliminary investigation, the police arrested the eighty-year-old man on suspicion of arson, and the case was handed over to the criminal investigation team for follow-up.
According to a male resident surnamed Qian, when he saw a fire in the opposite room, thick smoke was blowing his nostrils, and he was "a little bit surprised." Fortunately, the fire was not too big, and the smoke touched the automatic sprinkler system on the ceiling to extinguish the fire.
Residents are evacuated from the building with the assistance of staff.

Another male resident also pointed out that when the incident happened, he saw someone holding a lighter and a newspaper, and he smelled "𤓓 smell" soon after.
He checked and saw that the kindling was burning on the bedding on the bed. "How big was the fire, and then the other side (the bed) was buried again."
Residents said they saw two beds on fire one after the other.
