The shortage of manpower in the police and the weakness of the organization in the face of the criminal organizations continues to take a toll among ordinary citizens, but the violence between the citizens and the youth requires more significant attention and resources.



The first murder in Arab society for the year 2023 occurred on January 5 in the Shoafat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, where Yunus Rajabi, a young man in his 20s who was pronounced dead a few days later, was stabbed and seriously wounded.



On Thursday, in Rishon Lezion, Nissim Esseig, a 60-year-old real estate developer, was shot to death, allegedly due to a business dispute between him and a relative. A day later, 44-year-old Sharbel Azzam was shot to death at the gas station at the entrance to Ebalin village in the Lower Galilee.

On January 6-7, in the background of a conflict between families in the city of Rahat, thousands of shots were fired during 24 consecutive hours, forcing the residents to barricade themselves in their homes until the anger subsided.



On January 8, in the city of Petah Tikva, a young man on the autistic spectrum, about 22 years old, was violently attacked by a passenger when he got off the bus for no reason and knowing the attacker caused him to attack him in all parts of his body.

On January 9, Maran Abu Seif, a 40-year-old man in Jaffa, was shot and killed, apparently due to a fight over parking.



In Or Yehuda, yesterday a 40-year-old man was attacked with an iron rod by boys after he warned them while he was at a playground in the city.
