The jungle camp on RTL has been very popular for years.

In the meantime, however, we had to say goodbye to various candidates for all eternity:

1 / 23Costa Cordalis: In 2004 he took part in the jungle camp on RTL and even won the first of 16 seasons so far.

Then in July 2019 the sad news: Costa Cordalis died at the age of only 75.

2 / 23Costa Cordalis is best known for his warm and open nature.

In the jungle camp, he "hangs" from exam to exam, always gave everything.

By resolution, September 9, 2018 is set as the time of death.

The 33-year-old was lost forever after a cruise.

The 78-year-old dies on June 2, 2020 in Gran Canaria.

In 2004 he placed fifth in the jungle.

He was born on June 5, 1941 as the son of a soprano and a pianist in Thorn (German Reich).

Böhm is best known for his career as the fictional character Gottlieb Wendehals.

His hit "Polonaise Blankenese" is still an absolute classic at every carnival party!

9 / 23 Huge shock also with this former jungle camp candidate: on April 20, 2021, pop star Willi Herren will close his eyes forever.

The 45-year-old is found dead in his apartment in Cologne-Mülheim.

The cause of death is said to have been a sedative that the doctors had prescribed for him.

His widow Jasmin Herren talks about it in 2022 in the jungle camp on RTL.

10 / 23Willi Herren is best known for his role as the nasty "Olli" in the ARD cult series "Lindenstraße".

For more than 15 years he has been part of the show in the first.

In 2005 he began his Schlager career.

In the jungle, Herren ranked third in 2004.

He takes part in the second season back then.

The actor is only 64 years old.

He dies on May 10, 2012 as a result of a heart attack.

Along with nine other celebrities, he is fighting for the title of king of the jungle.

In the end, however, he cannot assert himself against his competitors.

13 / 23Also interesting: Günther Kaufmann was tried several times during his lifetime.

On November 27, 2002, he was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment on the basis of a false confession of attempted extortion resulting in death.

However, he was released again in 2005 – the real perpetrators had been convicted.

On March 27, 2006, however, Kaufmann was sentenced to a suspended sentence and a fine for deprivation of liberty in a particularly serious case, since two alleged accomplices had been in custody for three weeks due to his false testimony.

The 65-year-old died on November 16, 2019 as a result of cancer.

Just a few days earlier, he had made his illness public on social media.

From 1989 to 1997 he moderated the program "Der Preis isthot" on RTL, where he initially acted as an off-voice alongside Harry Wijnvoord.

In the jungle, Freiwald takes sixth place.

In addition to him, ten other celebrities fought for the crown.

He has appeared in around 200 film and television productions.

Then, on June 22, 2017, came the shocking news: Gunter Gabriel died at the age of 75.

He had previously sustained a triple fracture of the first cervical vertebra.

The injury resulted from a fall down a flight of stairs.
