Knife attack in Illerkirchberg: the suspect confesses

The knife attack on two girls in Illerkirchberg caused nationwide horror.
The alleged perpetrator has now expressed himself for the first time.
Ulm – The act of violence in Illerkirchberg (Baden-Württemberg) was shocking.
Two girls were attacked and injured by a man with a knife on their way to school.
One of the victims, a 14-year-old girl died from injuries in hospital, her friend (13) was seriously injured.

The alleged perpetrator is a war refugee from Eritrea.
The 27-year-old is in custody.
He is charged with murder and attempted murder.
So far he has remained silent on the allegations.
The suspect has now confessed to "stabbing a girl several times with a knife".
He also didn't know the girls before.
This was announced on Tuesday (January 10) by the police headquarters and the public prosecutor's office in Ulm.
Police found DNA on clothing and murder weapon
According to the police, his statements match the findings of the trace analysis that are now available.
DNA traces of the killed 14-year-old were found on both the suspected knife and the man's clothing.
DNA material from the accused was also found on the murder weapon.
Fatal attack in Illerkirchberg: motive still unclear
However, the motive for the crime remained open, according to the police and prosecutors.
For investigative reasons, no information could be given for the time being.
