Damascus-SANA
As part of the celebration of the Directorate of Theaters and Music at the Ministry of Culture on the occasion of the Arab Theater Day, the stage of Al-Qabbani Theater in Damascus hosted a monodrama show entitled (On the Verge of Life), directed by Muhammad Marwan Idlibi, written by Muhammad Anmar Hijazi and starring Muhammad Al-Sheikh.
The theatrical show coming from Aleppo governorate tells the story of the harsh terrorist war that Syria was exposed to, and the suffering of the Syrian people as a result of its consequences.
The show began with stories of the outbreak of major wars in the world, focusing on directing details and a distinct visual vision.
The director, Idlibi, confirmed to the cultural SANA that the text was treated with a different and realistic visual vision, based on a visual presentation that recounted the story of the father who bereaved his two sons during the terrorist war on Syria.
On the occasion of the Arab Theater Day, Idlibi saluted every brilliant theatrical artist on stage, calling for continuity in always encouraging the presentation and development of good texts.
In turn, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sheikh, the hero of the show, indicated that the text represents a special human condition, and he embodied it in the role of the grieving father with the loss of his two sons, one of whom was martyred in a clash with armed terrorist organizations, while the second son lost his life after his emigration, so that the father would have a date with a newborn on the anniversary of the liberation Aleppo from terrorism.
The playwright Joanne Jean pointed out that the Arab Theater Day celebration is an opportunity to present new theatrical performances to be presented on all stages of theaters in the governorates, and it is an incentive for all playwrights to renew their eagerness to present everything new to the audience.
