Ex-ski star Michaela Gerg from Lenggries finds moving farewell words.

– The death of Rosi Mittermaier at the age of 72 also caused great shock among the people in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district.
The two-time gold medal winner at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck was a frequent guest in the Isarwinkel and the surrounding area and delighted her fans with her natural style.

Many Tölzers remember, for example, an autograph session that the newly crowned “Gold-Rosi” completed not long after her double triumph at the 1976 Olympics in the former Sparkasse headquarters on Tölzer Marktstraße.

A good 30 years later, there was still a large crowd: in 2007, Rosi Mittermaier and her husband Christian Neureuther were prominent guests at the opening of the AOK Nordic Walking Routes in Lenggries.
The two ski aces had published books and DVDs about this sport.
In Lenggries they walked the course together with Michaela Gerg and the then mayor Werner Weindl - "really unique in terms of landscape", enthused Rosi Mittermaier.
In 2015, those who were interested could once again go Nordic walking with the couple in Lenggries.

In moving words, the ex-ski racer Michaela Gerg from Lenggries said goodbye to Rosi Mittermaier on Instagram: "You left us much too early," writes the operator of a ski school on Brauneck in the social network.
"You took our hearts by storm with your carefree and heartwarming way of approaching people.
You were a great role model for me that I emulated as a child.
Your modest way of dealing with success has impressed and shaped me very much.
Thank you for leaving these precious footprints in my heart.”
