This emerges from a press release from the police and prosecutors.
The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon in a vocational college on Wilhelmstraße in Ibbebüren.
Shortly before 3 p.m., the teacher is said to have been alone in a classroom.
According to the police, the student also came into the room with the 55-year-old.
Here the suspect is said to have attacked the woman with a knife and finally killed her.
The student then made an emergency call to the police and was arrested without resistance by the arriving emergency services, the police reports.
A homicide commission from the Münster police has started the investigation.
