Since Monday, January 9, the perpetrators of offenses may be required to pay a financial contribution to the association France Victimes 44 Nantes, as soon as the person has a minimum income.
The protocol was signed by the Nantes court, the Loire-Atlantique departmental association for educational and social support (Adaes 44) and France Victimes 44 Nantes.
This initiative is part of the issuance of a probationary criminal warning.
This alternative measure to prosecution replaces the reminders to the law by OPJ (judicial police officers), since January 1, 2023

This financial contribution, between 50 and 3000 euros, depends on the nature and seriousness of the offence, as well as the person's income.
“The target is rather between 50 and 300 euros.
Beyond that, we have another device which is the measure of penal composition”.

The probationary penal warning cannot be delivered in the case of offense against the persons, the depositaries of the public authority, the persons vested with an elective mandate.
It is also prohibited if the person concerned does not recognize the facts or has already been convicted in the past.
