BRUSSELS - The secretary general of NATO,

Jens Stoltenberg

, the president of the European Commission,

Ursula von der Leyen

, and the president of the European Council,

Charles Michel

, have signed

the third declaration on cooperation between the European Union and NATO in Brussels. 

"President Putin wanted to divide us but he failed.

The regime in Moscow wanted a different Europe, and this would have consequences for our security. So we must continue on our transatlantic alliance, on EU-NATO cooperation and strengthen our support for 'Ukraine".

Stoltenberg said, explaining that

the third declaration of cooperation between the EU and the Alliance takes their partnership "to the next level"

"We will deepen our excellent cooperation and extend it to new areas,"

added Ursula von der Leyen. 

"Russia's war against Ukraine has brought the EU and NATO closer together.

With today's declaration, we want to take our cooperation to the next level to guarantee peace and stability'".

Charles Michel said, assuring "stronger" military and diplomatic support for Ukraine.

"

The EU and NATO " have updated their ambitions on global security.

With today's statement we want to intensify our cooperation on space, strategic infrastructure, disinformation and meddling, climate change," Michel stressed.
