Major projects, financial recovery and many festivals determine the year in Neubiberg.
Neubiberg
– The past year was one of the great challenges for the municipality of Neubiberg.
"One has the feeling of being in permanent crisis mode," says Mayor Thomas Pardeller (CSU).
Energy Crisis and War
The energy crisis and the Ukraine war also left their mark in Neubiberg.
"We are currently preparing for longer-lasting power outages and blackouts in order to remain able to act if the worst comes to the worst," says Pardeller.
In addition, the municipality and district are tackling a real major project in their own area of the landscape park.
“We will soon welcome up to 432 refugees from Ukraine here in Neubiberg.
The container village was successively occupied before Christmas” (we reported).
Pardeller praises the good cooperation in this "mammoth task" with the district and many volunteers.
City Hall renovation
A "milestone" for Pardeller was the start of construction of the new town hall complex with the groundbreaking ceremony in early summer.
The project is expected to be completed in the next two years.
In addition, the municipality is also ambitiously future-oriented with an integrated urban development concept (ISEK) and with clear goals for climate protection.
This year, for example, the entire street lighting in the municipal area is to be converted to LED.

Good financial position
"The budget situation is good," said the mayor.
At the end of the year, there were signs of higher trade tax receipts.
"That shows that our companies are doing well." But Pardeller remains a realist.
"We are preparing for difficult years" - since the overall economic development appears uncertain and Neubiberg is still dependent on a few large trade tax payers.
Constant trouble about kiosk
The permanent construction site of the station kiosk remains a nuisance. "The kiosk remains a stalemate, and the railway company has announced without justification that it will not sell the store for the time being, although we were in concrete negotiations," criticizes the head of the town hall of a "actually non-existent cooperation" (we reported).
The revival of the once popular port of call seems further away than ever.

festivals and anniversaries
But there is also reason to be happy, because some festivals and anniversaries are coming up.
The nationally popular main street festival is again "the highlight of the summer".
But other dates are also important: the Realschule is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a large graffiti competition, among other things.
The flight stop that is so important for the community along today's landscape park around the former runway is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
And the Bundeswehr University is also celebrating a milestone birthday: it was founded 50 years ago.
