The world has gotten used to receiving from Tesla in recent years innovative ideas that challenge what is accepted in the conservative car industry.
One of them was the airplane-like Yoke steering wheel, which debuted in 2021 after the Model S and Model X facelifts about two years ago.

Probably not everyone was taken aback by the innovative steering wheel, which does not include an upper part and provides a different steering experience than we are familiar with.
In particular, the notable disadvantage of this steering wheel comes when you want to perform tight maneuvers that require a turn of more than 180 degrees.
This did not stop Elan Musk from sticking to the new idea and seeing it as another line for the automotive industry.
But quietly, Tesla recently added to its website the option to choose between a Yoke steering wheel and a standard round steering wheel at no additional cost when ordering the vehicle.
As usual, Tesla did not provide explanations, but apparently they also realized that they went one step too far with the Yoke, even for technology enthusiasts and brand loyalists.

At the same time, existing Model S and Model X owners will also be able to return to using a round and classic steering wheel in their vehicle, but they will be required to pay $700 for the steering wheel, not including the installation cost.
At the moment it is not known if this option will be offered in Israel for the owners of the S and X models who received them in the last few weeks.
