Homs-Sana
The theatrical performance “Haki Jrayed”, written and directed by Zine El Abidine Tayyar, was hosted by the House of Culture in Homs, as part of the celebration of the Directorate of Theaters and Music on the occasion of the Arab Theater Day.
The show deals with realistic paintings that reflect the difficult conditions experienced by the Syrian citizen and the changing social concepts and daily suffering through a group of stories within a satirical comic template and a simple decoration that was limited to newsprint that covered the floor and walls of the stage and three wooden pyramids.
The heroes of the work are a group of talented young people who underwent training courses in the interactive theater space set up by the “Darb” Center of the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development in the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund in Syria.
Theatrical director Zine El-Abidine Tayar explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the play is the product of a workshop with the interactive theatre, and his paintings were presented in the template of the daily newspaper that deals with the reality of life lived by the Syrian citizen, pointing out that the red color was chosen for the costumes of the actors because it symbolizes renewal, life and the future. While the pyramids symbolize the successive civilizations of the Syrian society.
He explained that the show shed light on the issue of youth migration and the conspiracy that targeted the Syrian people and their insistence on moving forward and winning thanks to the cohesion of their fabric and the mixing of their sects.
