Mirel Dzalovski, a resident of Jerusalem who was seriously injured by a burning can that was thrown at her during a demonstration on Yehezkel Street in the city, was released today (Tuesday) from the Shaarei Zedek Medical Center.

After three weeks of hospitalization and intensive treatment in the surgery department, she thanked the staff who, according to her, did the unbelievable and got her back on her feet.

Yesterday, the Jerusalem district attorney's office submitted to the city's district court an indictment against 22-year-old Meir Katsav and a 16-year-old minor, residents of Elad and Jerusalem from Hasidot Breslav, who were involved in setting fire to and trashing the trash can.

Dzalowski, a mother of 11 children, left her house on Thursday evening to shop for Shabbat and passed near the street where disturbances occurred.

During a demonstration, a burning can hit Dzalowski hard in the center of the chest.

Following the blow, she collapsed on the sidewalk, and was taken in a very serious condition to the trauma unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

She suffered an extremely severe bilateral lung injury and needed urgent and life-saving interventional actions.

After her condition stabilized, she was transferred to a long-term hospitalization in the intensive care unit headed by Prof. Philip Levine.

For two and a half weeks the doctors, nurses and all the staff fought for her life.

Dzalowski, who needed prolonged ventilation until her lungs returned to function, underwent several more operations and complex treatments until her condition improved.

Dr. Alon Shortz, director of the trauma unit, congratulated Mirel upon her release and said: "Mirel's desire to fight for an animal for her children, despite the severe injury, and her tremendous will power along with the focused treatment put her on her two feet. I wish her good health in the future the road".

Dzalovski and her family wanted to thank the dedicated team at Shaare Zedek - the doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, ventilator technicians, the social service team and many other teams that accompanied her in the event that changed her life.

The members of her family said that "we are full of praise and thanks to the blessed God, for all his overt and hidden kindnesses that accompanied us in the last weeks since she was seriously injured by a gunshot until the happy day of her release from the hospital. 'The good because his mercies never end and the merciful because his graces never end.'

"We want to thank from the bottom of our hearts all of Klal Israel for the endless prayers that saved Miri and brought her back to us healthy and functioning - your prayers were our oxygen in difficult and fearful days. Here is the place to thank the MDA team and the team of doctors and nurses at Shaare Zedek in the intensive care and general surgery department for Dedicated care 24 hours a day, and to all the medical professionals who accompanied us during this period, you were the good messengers for saving Miri's life, may heaven bless you and fulfill all the wishes of your heart!

"We want to emphasize again, as believing Jews we have no feelings of anger or guilt towards any Jew, and we pray that only peace and love of Israel will multiply among the people of Israel and that we will be granted complete redemption soon."
