Al-Hasakah farmers continue to market their production of cabbage and chard crops, which are grown within the agricultural sub-plan for winter vegetables, as the production of the two materials has reached 1,787 tons to date.
The head of the Plant Production Department in the Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Jalal Bilal, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that cabbage and chard are winter crops that are grown in agricultural areas where good water sources are available, as they are winter crops that need semi-permanent watering and irrigation, indicating that the quantities of Cabbage produced to date amounted to 672 tons, and chard 1115 tons.
It is noteworthy that the area cultivated with the two crops amounted to 433 hectares, distributed over 230 hectares of cabbage and 203 hectares of chard.
