On video: Ben Gvir ascended the Temple Mount: "We will not surrender to a terrorist organization" (Walla system!)
Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir contacted legal advisor Gali Beharev Miara and asked to discuss with her the issue of flying Palestinian flags.
This follows his demand from the police to comprehensively enforce the ban on waving flags and the organization's position that enforcement on the issue will be carried out individually and not as a policy.
The appeal was made following Ben Gabir's meeting with Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, ahead of the planned demonstrations on Saturday against the government.
In his address, the minister emphasized that "freedom of demonstration is a fundamental value in democracy, and is dear to all of us", but added that "my position is that it is important that the police operate in Shwin between demonstrators, ultra-orthodox or Arab, left-wing or right-wing, religious or secular." Ben Gvir also referred to the issue of waving PLO flags, some of which were seen in the recent demonstrations against the government, and requested that the police's policy regarding them be comprehensive, and not on a case-by-case basis to his body
Ben Gabir met with the commissioner on Sunday and discussed with him the release of the terrorist Karim Younes. He instructed the commissioner that from now on every junior officer will be given the authority to remove the Palestinian flags and there is no longer a need for the approval of a district or area commander.
The priority is the flag of Palestine.
