The Chinese Ambassador to Russia, Zhang Hanhui, affirmed that the relations between Beijing and Moscow are firm and real and are not affected by political changes and transformations.

"Unlike other Western countries that have engaged in all means in politicizing anti-coronavirus operations and discrediting our strenuous efforts through statements by politicians and officials, China and Russia have confronted political viruses and threats from the world's dominant powers," Hanhui told TASS.

Hanhui pointed out that the lifting of a number of restrictive measures to combat Corona in China opened up prospects for a new round of bilateral cooperation with Russia based on the principles of mutual assistance and win-win, adding: As Moscow and Beijing are partners in the comprehensive strategic interaction in a new era, they have continuously adhered to the spirit of assistance. The mutuality inherent in relationships since the beginning of the pandemic.

Hanhui pointed out that Russian President Vladimir Putin was among the first leaders of the major powers to express their support for the Chinese side in combating the epidemic, and Russia was the first country to send a team of experts to China to confront the disease, indicating that Moscow provided assistance in the form of medical supplies in Wuhan.

According to the Chinese diplomat, the air service between Russia and China and the transportation of goods across borders through border checkpoints have never been interrupted, and the two sides have also strengthened cooperation in areas such as medicine, health care, prevention and control of coronavirus infection, and the development of medicines and vaccines.

Hanhui stressed that China is ready to restore mutual travel with Russia as soon as possible and continuously deepen diversified strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The Chinese official also indicated Moscow and Beijing's willingness to intensify cultural and humanitarian exchanges to ensure stable and continuous work of international production chains and supply chains in order to promote the development of multidimensional, mutually beneficial cooperation, with the aim of common development and making a constructive contribution to the two countries' joint struggle against the epidemic and to the global economic recovery.

Hanhui said China's new strategy of anti-epidemic efforts will give a stronger impetus to the country's economic development, which in turn will open up new possibilities for deepening Russia-China cooperation.
