Committed master electrician torn from life

A few days before his death, Xaver Hirsch ordered a new car.
He went for a walk with his wife and discussed with his son what to give the longest-serving employees for 40 years of service.
Maisach – Nobody remotely expected that the senior boss of the long-established company Elektro-Hirsch would no longer drive the car, no longer give gifts to the employees and never spend any more time with his family.
"My father was taken from the middle of life," says Xaver Hirsch junior.
It was a life full of power.
Xaver Hirsch, born in Munich in September 1951, put all his energy into the business and still found time for political and voluntary work.
The fact that he would join the family business founded in 1929 was never out of the question for the Maisacher.
In the third generation
Here he did his training in the electrical trade and his master craftsman.
In 1994, he and his brother took over the business in the third generation.
"His life was the company that he made to what it is today with foresight and vision," say his wife Brigitte and their two adult children Astrid and Xaver junior.
The son followed in his father's footsteps and took over the business at the end of 2021.
But the senior remained an important figure in the company as managing director and idea generator.
The new construction of an office and warehouse building in the Maisach commercial area is his work.

In general, the commercial area - it might look different without Xaver Hirsch.
For 30 years, the entrepreneur was committed to the CSU in the municipal council and fought as a trade officer for the interests of the local economy.
He brought many companies to Maisach and ensured that the municipality is one of the strongest job providers in the district and can build on bubbling trade tax revenues.
Also in the fire service
Hirsch was exemplary with his clear stance.
He learned a lot from his party friend, says Mayor Hans Seidl.
Xaver Hirsch was also active in the fire department.
No need to ask about hobbies - he didn't have any.
He felt most comfortable at his desk.
However, when his five-year-old granddaughter Anni came to visit, the proud grandfather gave up work.
The little one was his pride.
Great dismay
In the village, the dismay at the death of the well-known Xaver Hirsch is great.
"I would like to thank you for the great sympathy," says his wife Brigitte.
She had met her husband, who was one year older than her, when she was 16 and married in 1977.
The two loved to recharge their batteries with their children at Lake Garda, which became their second home.
Last September, the topping-out ceremony for the new company building on Frauenstraße was celebrated – planned and prepared by the senior boss.
In a group photo from that day you can see him standing happily among the 30 employees.
Xaver Hirsch died of sepsis, probably caused by delayed bronchitis.
He was 71 years old.
