A new airline would like to take on Lufthansa: Bavarian Airlines wants to start with twelve machines from Munich at the end of 2023 - the focus is on comfort.

The start-up Bavarian Airlines is scheduled to take off for the first time this year: the company's goal will be to position itself on the market against Lufthansa and other network airlines, as the industry

portal airliners.de

writes.

According to a company description, Bavarian's aim is "to offer all passengers a high-quality service, with an emphasis on comfort and convenience".

In other words, business travelers in particular should be picked up with an inviting business class.

The airport in the Bavarian state capital is also to become the airline's home base.

More convenience and a new miles program

Bavarian Airlines would like to take off with twelve leased Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

It is a narrow jetliner manufactured by the Brazilian aerospace company of the same name.

Compared to the previous model, it should emit 15 percent less carbon dioxide.

The machines are designed for use on short and medium-haul routes with a range of up to 7,000 kilometers.

According to the Bavarian website, the cabins will have large windows and higher ceilings, and will also be equipped with high-speed WiFi and in-flight entertainment.

It should be particularly comfortable in the aircraft of Bavarian Airlines with 1-1 seating in business class, as

airliners.de

reports - analogous to "Domestic First Class" in the USA.

In addition, only 129 seats per machine are planned, although the largest Embraer regional jet has space for up to 146 seats.

The company also advertises a “radically better miles program” on its website.

Instead of miles or points, there are the so-called "Bewards".

Behind it are blockchain tokens called BVX.

The airline's own cryptocurrency can be used to redeem for airline tickets or other rewards.
