The new Karlsfeld prince couples were chosen in front of 400 guests.

There were a few surprises at the enthronement in the town hall.

Karlsfeld

– Darth Vader, the villain from the Star Wars films, almost welcomed the 400 guests at the enthronement of the Karlsfeld carnival prince couples in the town hall with a laser sword.

For Rolf Ederer, the president of the Olympia Faschingsclub Karlsfeld (OFC), the disguise was a bit too complex, says the 55-year-old.

But he and his team came up with something else.

Inthornation in the Karlsfeld community center: Six carnival parties at the OFC

Under the motto "Start filming!", they kept their audience in suspense for five hours, including six carnival groups from the area, Karlsfeld's mayor Stefan Kolbe and his deputy Stefan Handl as well as district administrator Stefan Löwl.

The two court marshals Marco Kessler and Dominik Boxleitner acted as directors – black suit trousers, white braces, cream-colored straw hats – through the evening.

The focus was on handing over the insignia to the new royal couple.

Among the adults, Magdalena Vonnahme presented the tiara to her successor, Lucia Sansone.

Jonas Zimmermann gave the scepter with the puppet's head to the heir to the throne Andrea D'Arco.

For the children, Princess Caroline Seidl ceded her crown to Charlize Reichert.

Luca Sansone got the scepter from his predecessor Christian Eder.

“The last royal couples have been in office for three years because of Corona.

This is record-breaking,” says Ederer.

The enthronement was not only special for the two royal couples.

This year, as reported, there are two Funkenmariechen instead of one: Felicita Demmelbauer and Emily Ederer, who premiered together on stage.

Show dance and traditional guard performances

In addition to the traditional guard dance, in which the dancers rip their legs in the air, OFC Karlsfeld has other shows in mind.

“The adults danced for ten minutes.

That's when things really got going," says Ederer.

That went down well with the audience.

The enthronement is not only about the inauguration of the princes and princesses, but also about presenting this year's carnival program to the public.

"People were enthusiastic," says Ederer, who was very satisfied with the event.

Affiliate club Kakage also had an appearance, with the men wearing blue bob wigs, cheerleading costumes and matching pompoms in hand, sweeping across the stage.

Surprise for OFC Presidents

There was another surprise for the OFC President and his deputy, Miriam Boxleitner.

They were awarded two medals, among the oldest of the OFC.

"I will cherish it," says Ederer, "and always wear it during carnival".

50 years OFC Karlsfeld

The Olympia Faschingsclub Karlsfeld has existed for 50 years.

Actually, during carnival, people only celebrate the schnapps numbers, explains Rolf Ederer.

But at the OFC you don't see it that strictly.

The first morning shopping after the enthronement took place in 1974 with the Karlsfeld youth band in the Hotel Europa.

The OFC has a 36-strong children's and youth guard, which consists of the three groups Piccolo, Teenies, Jugend and the two Funkenmariechen.

The Great Guard isn't that well staffed.

A total of nine people dance among the adults.
