At dawn, the Carabinieri of the Agrigento provincial command and the Ros of Palermo carried out 10 precautionary measures issued by the investigating judge of the Palermo court at the request of the DDA.

The anti-mafia operation carried out between Licata, Palma di Montechiaro, Canicattì and the entire eastern part of the Agrigento area was called 'Condor' and brought to light the members of a mafia-type criminal association dedicated to drug trafficking, extortion against entrepreneurs and damage by fire.

Five precautionary measures in prison were carried out, as well as 4 house arrests and an obligation to stay. The suspects must answer, for various reasons, for mafia-type association, extortion, association aimed at drug trafficking.

Also carried out 23 personal and local searches (3 of which in prison) against the recipients of the measures.

The investigations, coordinated by the DDA of Palermo, made it possible to acquire an investigative compendium on the mafia structures in the territory of Favara (AG) and that of Palma di Montechiaro (AG), the latter characterized - as ascertained by definitive sentences - by the coexistence of the territorial articulation of Cosa Nostra and criminal formations called "paracchi" on the model of the Stidda.

In this context, the carabinieri gathered clues on the attempt by one of the suspects to expand his influence beyond the Palmese area, namely on Favara and the Moses Village of Agrigento;

on the role of "guarantor" exercised by the top of the Palma di Montechiaro family in favor of a member of the Stidda, in the presence of the then regent of the district of Canicattì.

Serious indications have also been acquired against some of the suspects of the interference exercised by Cosa Nostra in the lucrative economic sector of transactions for the sale of grapes and the progressive interference in this sector by the Stidda.

In this context, reports emerged from the top of the Palma di Montechiaro mafia family with the Calabrian 'Ndrina of the Barbaro di Platì.

The investigation also brought to light the illicit control of

a large part of the entrepreneurial sector of slot machines and gaming machines installed in commercial premises.

Over 100 carabinieri from Agrigento and del Ros in action who were supported by colleagues from Palermo, Trapani, Caltanissetta, Enna and by the Cacciatori squadron from Sicily.

20 searches were also carried out.

The "Condor" investigation, developed by the carabinieri of the Agrigento Investigative Unit with the coordination of the deputy prosecutor of the Dda Paolo Guido and the prosecutor Claudio Camilleri, stems from the investigative convergence of the "Xydi" blitz of February 2, 2021. So, the Ros - who closed the circle on the last network of supporters of the boss Matteo Messina Denaro - carried out 23 detentions of suspects issued by the DDA.

Among those arrested at the time there were also two policemen and the criminal lawyer, failed to collaborate with justice, Angela Porcello, who allegedly transformed her law firm in Canicattì into the headquarters of the Cosa Nostra district by conveying the messages of the boss Giuseppe Falsone to the outside .

On 6 December, the investigating judge of the Palermo court, Paolo Magro, ruled on the defendants who had chosen the abbreviated procedure.

Among others, former criminal lawyer Angela Porcello was sentenced to 15 years and 4 months in prison, struck off the register after her arrest as part of the "Xydi" operation.

Instead, twenty years were inflicted on the mafia entrepreneur Giancarlo Buggea, from Campobello di Licata, former partner of Angela Porcello.

In all there were 15 convictions and 5 acquittals.
