A 27-year-old from Nuremberg is said to have pushed a 16-year-old girl onto the train tracks in Sauerland and held her there.

The police are investigating.

Nuremberg/Altena – A young man from Nuremberg is said to have pushed a 16-year-old girl onto the rails at the Altena train station in Sauerland.

The crime happened after a regional express stopped on Sunday, from which the young person got off, the police said on Monday (January 9).

A passenger from the train ran after the 16-year-old, grabbed her by both arms from behind in front of other passengers and pushed her into the opposite platform.

He then reportedly held her on the rails.

According to the police, however, two witnesses immediately followed and freed her.

Paramedics treated the injured 16-year-old.

The 27-year-old suspect climbed off the track back onto the platform and got back on the train with his suitcase, the police said.

Railway employees and witnesses locked the suspect inside the train until the police arrived.

Suspect is in a psychiatric hospital

The man is said to have insulted other passengers on the journey.

The man denied the crime to the police.

A drug test was positive.

A judge ordered blood tests.

After a medical examination, the man was admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

The police are investigating dangerous bodily harm, a dangerous intervention in rail traffic and insult.
