, the president of Horizons, Édouard Philippe, confirms his support for the pension reform just presented by Élisabeth Borne.
On the other hand, he claims guarantees;
those of "
a system which balances pensions in the long term, which contains justice measures
", and "
has the same effect on the balance as a postponement to 65 years
", despite the government's decision to gradually fix the legal age at 64.
In 2019, the mayor of Le Havre had himself tried to carry out the government's first project.
He finally came up against severe opposition forcing him to activate 49-3, before having to back down in the face of confinement.
Since then, he has constantly called on the executive to speed up this issue, even pleading for an increase in the starting age to 67.
With his support now assumed, Édouard Philippe is therefore part of that of his parliamentary troops – namely the 29 Horizons and related deputies.

Horizons will support everything that goes in the direction of more work to guarantee more prosperity and more solidarity
,” he said.
While the unions have announced their first mobilizations, the city councilor also warns that “
