Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that there are no prospects for peace negotiations with Ukraine, because the law in Kyiv prohibits dialogue with Russia, and the West does not allow Kiev to show flexibility.
Russia Today quoted Peskov as saying in press statements today: “Russia is always ready to solve problems through negotiations, and President Vladimir Putin has said repeatedly that we are still ready for that.”
Peskov added: “Achieving our goals by peaceful, political and diplomatic means is our preferred option, but it can be said that there are currently no possibilities for negotiations due to the laws of Ukraine that prohibit its president from conducting any contacts with us, or conducting some kind of dialogue with us, while Westerners tend not to Allow Kiev any flexibility in this matter.”
