Police opened fire on a "dangerous person" who injured travelers at a major Paris train station, Gare du Nord, on Wednesday, French rail operator SNCF tweeted.
CNN affiliate BFMTV said several people were injured in a knife attack Wednesday morning at the station.
“Traffic is disrupted in the departure and arrival [areas] of Paris Nord.
The police appear to have opened fire on a dangerous person who injured travelers at the Gare du Nord," SNCF tweeted.
The emergency services intervened and the person has been removed.
A security perimeter has been established, but the station continues to function as normal, the SNCF tweeted.
