The weather in Hong Kong is changing from warm to cold, and it is expected to turn colder before the new year.
The Observatory predicts that a cold front will cross southern China on Sunday (15th). Affected by the subsequent strong northeast monsoon, the weather in the region will turn cold from early to mid next week.
According to the nine-day weather forecast of the Observatory, the temperature on Sunday will drop significantly, with a temperature difference of 10 degrees from next Monday (16th), and the temperature will reach the cold level for four consecutive days next Monday, and the temperature in urban areas will be even lower next Tuesday (17th). 11 degrees, and Daguling may get 7 degrees.
However, stepping into the "big cold" in the 24 solar terms, that is, on January 20, the observatory is expected to warm up slightly, with a maximum temperature of 18 degrees.

According to the Observatory, an easterly airflow is affecting the coast of Guangdong, while a broad band of clouds is covering the area.
It is predicted that today (11th) will be cloudy, with one or two light rains, and the wind will be moderate to fresh and east to northeast.
Looking forward to tomorrow (12th), there will still be a few showers, and as the easterly airflow weakens, it is expected that Friday (13th) and Saturday (14th) will be warm and foggy, and the temperature will rise to a maximum of 25 degrees.
However, the Observatory predicts that the cold front will "come in" on Sunday. There will be fog and one or two light rains at the beginning, and there will be sunshine for a short time in the afternoon, and the temperature will drop significantly later.
Next Monday is expected to be sunny for part of the time, dry during the day, cold in the morning, and the temperature will drop to between 12 and 16 degrees. Compared with the previous day's highest temperature of 22 degrees, it will drop sharply by 10 degrees overnight.
From next Monday, the weather will be cold for four consecutive days. There will be sunshine and dryness in part of next Tuesday. Ridge may reach the severe cold level, as low as 7 degrees.
Next Thursday (19th) will be the 28th year of the Chinese New Year. Traditionally, "cleaning" will be done. However, the Observatory predicts that the weather will still be cold next Thursday morning, with the temperature ranging from 12 to 18 degrees. Citizens should keep warm when cleaning.
And next Friday (20th) is the twenty-ninth year, which is also the "big cold" in the twenty-four solar terms, representing the coldest period of the year.
The Observatory predicts that the weather will be mostly fine and dry next Friday, and the temperature will also warm up to between 13 and 18 degrees.
