The Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court this morning (Wednesday) extended by five days the arrest of the driver who is suspected of driving wildly towards protesters against the new government during a demonstration held in Be'er Sheva.

The police representative said at the hearing that the crimes attributed to the suspect are serious.

One of the demonstrators who was almost hit by the vehicle told Walla!

Because the driver "didn't hurt the brains, and shouted to them: 'You anarchists have destroyed the country'".

A police officer who was on the scene witnessed the man's attack on the protesters after he got out of the vehicle.

"endangered the demonstrators".

Also, the police did not receive any evidence of a person being hit by the vehicle.

The investigation shows that he got on the sidewalk, got out of the vehicle and pushed protesters.

The police said that at this stage there is no suspicion of a run-over attempt, but a suspicion of "violation of order, reckless driving, assault and threats".

They also said that the investigation has not yet ended and as necessary the suspect will be brought to a hearing to extend his detention.

The suspect's lawyer claimed that the incident was blown out of proportion and he did not hurt anyone.

"There is no one who complains about being hit by a vehicle. The officer who was at the scene did not say that he saw the vehicle hit someone. The suspect does not deny that he was at the scene, he felt threatened and got out of the vehicle."

The incident began when a few dozen people gathered near Ben Gurion University in protest of the new government's legal reform, when suddenly a car drove towards them.

A police force present at the scene arrested the suspect, who denied trying to run over the protesters.

Daniel, who was present at the demonstration held on Berger Street, described the incident: "We were standing on the bike path, and suddenly a car took a left turn and started shouting at us, 'Leftist anarchists - fly away.' Let him stop and he came and shouted, 'What are you attacking?', then they caught him and the police took him away."

Leader of the opposition and chairman of Yesh Atid Yair Lapid yesterday condemned the incident and blamed it on the new government. "The government's incitement will end in blood," cried Lapid. "Today she came to the student demonstration led by the Yesh Atid cell at Ben Gurion University.

A dangerous run-over attempt by a person who is driven by the intoxication of power and the madness pumped up by Ben Gabir and Rival Levin.

Miraculously no one was hurt.

You won't be able to run over us, you won't be able to run over the country we love."
