Two brothers have confessed to the district court of Weilheim.
They had previously been transferred by DNA test.
Weilheim
– "What should I say?" One of the lawyers began: "Yes, that's how it was." Immediately after the indictment was read out, the two brothers made extensive confessions.
During the course of 2020, they had pleaded guilty to five counts of joint theft, two counts of attempted joint theft and criminal damage to property.
The two stole mountain bikes, cordless screwdrivers and valuable model buses from the basement and underground car park of the apartment building in Weilheim, where the 22-year-old older brother lived at the time.
The two brothers also stole a bicycle that was secured with a chain lock at the "Rigi-Rutsch'n" outdoor pool in Peißenberg.
The two of them promptly provided the wheels with other add-on parts in order to cover up any possible traces.
"We wanted to keep them and drive around a bit," they said in court.
Stealing would have provided a certain "kick" that the young people found exciting.
Simply throw away stolen goods
Other investigations that were conducted against them that year also showed that 2020 was a “stupid year” for both of them.
"Maybe the Corona period was to blame," they said when asked.
Both had to serve several weeks of permanent arrest from other trials at the time, which gave them "a lot of time to think".
Since then, “a lot has changed in terms of attitude to life,” they said.
They actually didn't know what to do with some of the stolen goods, they explained.
"We threw away the model buses and didn't even sell them," says the older one.
Today he would consider it "total madness" himself.
However, when they tried to break into an e-bike in the said underground car park, the modern lock drew attention to itself with acoustic signals, causing the two to flee.
After a DNA test, a mask that had been left behind finally led to the two brothers.
"Shot across the bow" at the right time
The younger man was also investigated for "causing a public nuisance".
A local resident claims to have observed him in the immediate vicinity of the housing estate as he sat on a bicycle and masturbated "without any reason to hurry".
Another, probably his brother, was only a few meters away.
She was "extremely shocked," said the witness.

Ultimately, however, the court could not prove with 100% certainty that it was the 17-year-old Schongauer, which is why there was no conviction, at least in this case.
However, the thefts did lead to a fine.
However, since the two young men already had enough time to think about their behavior and to mature, they stayed with community hours.
64 for the older brother and 48 hours for his younger brother.
"Harmful tendencies were certainly present at the time of the crime," said judge Claudia von Hirschfeld.
In the meantime, however, both she and the judges present would see a positive development.
The "shot across the bow", in the form of the served arrests, therefore probably came at the right time.
