In 2023, important events and decisions are on the agenda in Bad Tölz.

An annual preview with Mayor Ingo Mehner.

Bad Tölz – In 2023 there are a number of important events and changes in Bad Tölz.

Other issues that have been with the city for a long time are about decisions and setting the course.

For the Tölzer Kurier, Mayor Ingo Mehner (CSU) outlines what he sees as the most important Tölz topics of the new year.

He emphasizes that much of this is subject to the decisions of the city council and the ability to finance it in uncertain times.

revitalize the city

The first highlight of the new year in Bad Tölz are the Winter Games of the Special Olympics Bavaria from Monday, January 23rd to Thursday, January 26th.

But in the days before, the city will get in the mood for the games of the people with intellectual disabilities, for example with activities by the gymnastics club and the Café Miteinand.

As far as other events are concerned, according to Mehner, 2023 should be just as lively as the year before, when there were 300 days of events organized or financially supported by the city itself.

How to proceed with a possible future venue should also be decided in 2023.

Then the commissioned architectural office Beer Bembé Dellinger will present a plan with the associated price tag for the Kurhaus extension.

As is well known, a replacement for the aging Kleiner Kursaal is to be built there.

Children, young people, sports facilities

According to Mehner, the city will start looking for a location for another new daycare center this year as soon as the city's new four-group daycare center on Jahnstraße has gone into operation.

"The need for childcare places is constantly increasing," says Mehner.

In the new year, a course will be set regarding the conversion of the indoor pool on the Flinthöhe into a family pool.

According to Mehner's idea, a kind of experience or adventure playground could be created at the Girlitzer Weiher.

The city council will decide what exactly.

A solution will be sought for the Blomberg so that tobogganing will not only be possible from the middle station, but also in the currently closed upper part of the route.

At the Jahnschule, construction defects in the new extension building are still to be rectified this year.

"The damaged roof will be dismantled," says Mehner.

If all the new rooms can finally be put into operation, the demolition of the “point houses” still needs to be done.

quality of stay

The topic is very important to many citizens and also costs a lot of money.

In 2023, the city will again invest in public toilet facilities, namely in a new toilet at the mobile home parking area and at the Blomberg mountain station.

The surroundings of the "Bräustüberl" are to be redesigned.

traffic and infrastructure

The Nordspange will remain the most important topic in the area of infrastructure measures in 2023 - even if hopes of construction starting this year have been dashed.

As reported, the Weilheim State Building Authority has now only planned to start the actual measures in 2024.

Mayor Mehner finds the postponement “annoying”, but hopes that “as much as possible will happen” in 2023, at least in terms of preparatory measures.

He says: "The decisive factor is the timing of completion."

Drivers could also get the sense that Telekom wants to continue with the broadband expansion throughout the city on a larger scale.

"We're looking forward to fast internet and good construction site planning," says Mehner, with a little teasing about the not always fortunate road closures last year.

The city itself will complete the renovation of Bairawieser Strasse with the second construction phase in 2023 and will push ahead with planning for the redesign of the intersection between Hindenburgstrasse and Wachterstrasse/Nockhergasse, "to dissolve the concrete jungle," as Mehner says.

The mayor personally would prefer a roundabout here.

energy and sustainability

According to Mehner, approval planning is in progress for the planned new heating plant next to the fire station on Lenggrieser Straße.

The planning application is to be submitted in 2023.

The floodlights on the Red-White Square will be switched to LED.

Last but not least, the decision to increase the dam at the Klammerweiher is pending, says Mehner.

Reside

In the Hintersberg development area, the city of Bad Tölz has so far only sold 14 of its 23 parcels to prospective buyers.

The remainder is to be assigned in heritable building rights.

According to Mehner, a decision on the award criteria is scheduled for early 2023.

The first semi-detached house is in the Hintersberg construction area.

In 2023, the city will allocate further parcels with heritable building rights.

In 2023, the city council will have to deal further with the planned apartment blocks in the Isarleitenweg/Arzbacher Straße area.

The development plan for the area has been drawn up, but the final decision as to who will build what exactly there is still pending.

business and tourism

Another question for 2023: What will become of the Ratskeller?

In 2022, the city council initially refused to invest the 600,000 euros that would be necessary to re-establish full catering in the empty municipal property on Schulgraben.

Instead, alternative usage concepts should be sought, possibly in connection with the neighboring Old Madl School.

The future of the Moralt site is also much discussed.

A feasibility study is to be completed this year.

It is already clear that a hotel opening will be celebrated in Bad Tölz this year.

The Hotel Bergeblick is growing upwards on the Wackersbergerhöhe.

Investor and future operator Johannes Tien expects to welcome the first guests here in May or June.

Andrea and Johannes Tien are looking forward to the opening of the Hotel Bergeblick, who will also run the hotel themselves.

social

The first major change of the year took place on January 1st.

With the Parity Welfare Association, Bavarian State Association, the formerly municipal Josefistift has got a new sponsor.

In a few years, the nursing home is to move to a new building on the Flinthöhe (planned start of construction: end of 2024).

At the same time, according to Mehner, the process of looking for a social successor use for the current Josefistift location on Bahnhofstrasse should begin on the part of the city in 2023.

From the mayor's point of view, the biggest social issue of 2023 will be the necessary accommodation for refugees, both for Bad Tölz "and for the entire country".

"It will be a big challenge to distribute the refugees evenly in the district," says Mehner - not without mentioning that Bad Tölz is already doing an above-average amount in this regard.
