A train derailed in the Oberland.

There were 50 students on the train.

The train came to a standstill on the track bed.

Miraculously, no passenger was injured.

Individuals suffered shock.

    : Around 7.30 a.m. on Tuesday morning near Peiting near Schongau, a Bavarian Regionalbahn (BRB) train derailed.

  • Very lucky:

    Because the train was just before the entrance to the station, it was traveling at a reduced speed, so nobody was injured.

    The federal police have initial information about the course of the accident.

The salvage work continues.

The train of the Bayerische Oberlandbahn derailed at the Peitingen station.

A railcar jumped off the track with several wheels.

The train did not slip off the embankment at an angle and tip over, but braked in the track bed and came to a standstill in the direction of travel.

There were 52 travelers in the BRB, mostly students and the driver.

Federal police confirm that some students suffered a mild shock.

They were treated at the scene by paramedics.

Nobody had to go to the hospital.

The route will remain closed for a very long time.

The train needs to be repaired and salvaged, then the tracks need to be examined and repaired.

The police estimate the damage incurred at several 100,000 euros.

The Bavarian regional train derailed shortly before entering Peiting Ost station.

Luckily for the occupants: the train had already slowed down for the entrance to the station, so it landed on the track bed after the derailment.

Miraculously, nobody was hurt.

Train derails near Schongau: federal police are investigating – students are in shock

The federal police have now started the investigation and are questioning the passengers.

The train consisted almost exclusively of students who wanted to travel from the Hohenpeissberg area to the Schongau school center.

The students reported jerking.

Our reporter from on site reported that the horror was written all over their faces.

Two of the people on the train suffered a shock and were treated by paramedics.

More than a hundred rescue workers from the fire brigade, THW, rescue service and police were on duty at the Peiting-Ost train station (Weilheim-Schongau district) this morning.

The large-scale operation was triggered by a major alarm at half past seven in the morning - on the assumption that the train could also have overturned.

According to initial information, there are no injuries.

Individuals suffered shock.
