The police today (11th) received a report from a 61-year-old woman, saying that the gate and iron gate of a unit in Sheung Tak Estate, Tseung Kwan O, were splashed with red oil, covering an area of about 1 meter by 2 meters.
Officers from the Tseung Kwan O Police District Task Force arrived at the scene and intercepted a suspicious-looking man near Sheung Tak Estate, and found red oil stains on his clothes.
After preliminary investigation, the 30-year-old local man surnamed Chen was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
The case is now being handed over to the Anti-Triad Action Unit of the Tseung Kwan O Police District for investigation.
The arrested man is now being detained for enquiries.
The operation is still ongoing and further arrests cannot be ruled out.
After receiving the report, the police officers stopped the man involved in the case nearby.
