New survey: only 2.8% on average of the hearings held for employees before their dismissal end in their being allowed to work and not in their expulsion from the system

Do not rely on this: only 2.8% on average of the hearings held for employees before their dismissal end in their being allowed to work and not in their expulsion from the system - this is according to a dedicated survey recently conducted by the "Ecotz Systems" company.

The labor courts have ruled that one of the basic rights that every employee has is that the employer hear his words before making a decision that may harm the employee, including before making a decision on the employee's dismissal.

This right is not limited in relation to the employee's seniority or the period of employment.

Therefore, it was determined in the ruling that the employer must invite the employee to a hearing by giving written notice, and conduct a hearing in which he must hear the employee's claims and be open to being convinced by his words, and during which a protocol must be drawn up.

The question that formed the basis of the survey is how many of the hearings that are held end, in the end, in a decision to fire the employee.

In order to examine this issue, Oketz conducted a survey among some of its customers - 734 business companies in the Israeli economy.

Processing the results of the survey shows that among small businesses the rate of hearings that ended in no layoffs is 2%, and in medium-sized businesses - 3%.
