10,000 people are chosen to contribute to cannabis legalization.

Frankfurt – For most people, mail from the drug department is not one of the most popular things in the mailbox.

In the coming days, however, that is exactly what will happen to 10,000 people in Frankfurt, reports fnp.de.

As the city announced on Thursday (January 12), those chosen should take part in a “representative survey on the subject of cannabis”.

The participants were selected by random sampling from the population register.

Frankfurt: Survey on the legalization of cannabis

The legalization of cannabis has been discussed in Germany for some time.

For adults, there should be a controlled tax for pleasure purposes.

"We want to set up our information and help offers in such a way that they meet the needs and expectations of the people of Frankfurt," said Stefan Majer, head of the health department.

The survey among the people in Frankfurt should help with this.

But what exactly do Majer and his colleagues from the health department want to know?

According to the city of Frankfurt, the questionnaire includes 13 content-related questions on cannabis and the planned legalization with several answer options to tick.

Among other things, they asked about their personal opinion on legalization, how the award should be regulated, how well informed the respondents felt about specific points and what information and help offers were desired.

The Frankfurt drug department is supported in the survey by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Addiction and Drug Research in Hamburg.

The survey is anonymous, data protection is guaranteed and participation is voluntary.

"Take part and help us to implement needs-based offers," appeals to the drug department in Frankfurt to the chosen few, who will receive the ominous letter with the survey in the coming days.

According to its own statements, the city of Frankfurt intends to address the public in the summer with the results of the survey.

First, however, 10,000 people in Frankfurt are on the train.
