About 1.6 billion pounds to modernize the production process at the Homs Sugar Factory

The Director General of the Homs Sugar Company, Eng. Yasser Ayoub, revealed that the planned appropriations for the implementation of investment projects during the current year amount to one billion and 581 million pounds, and they include the installation of two cooking devices for the sugar factory, the installation of a drying and sifting unit, a vacuum filter and a red sugar separator, in addition to the purchase of a machine for cutting and packaging soft yeast with a capacity of no Less than 2 tons per hour.

Ayoub said in a statement to SANA reporter: The plan includes a project to provide, install and operate a set of screw compressors for precision instruments, with a capacity of not less than 150 cubic meters per hour, along with its own drying unit, and provide, install and operate a unit for cooling and diluting carbon gas, with a capacity of 250 kilograms per hour, with a unit Storing carbon gas with a capacity of 100 tons for the alcohol factory, indicating that the plan includes lighting projects for the company and its factories with renewable energy and networking between the company’s directorates and factories and the institution’s management.

Regarding the reality of factories and actual production during the past year, Ayoub confirmed that the yeast factory is working at full production capacity to supply the governorates of Homs, Tartous, Lattakia and Hama with their need of fresh yeast, as during the past year 2984 tons of soft yeast were produced, while 440 tons of white alcohol were produced, and 48 tons of industrial alcohol, and 70 tons of carbon gas, pointing to the production of 76 tons of popular soap.

With regard to the oil plant, Ayoub indicated that the manufacturing of the entire quantities of cotton seeds supplied to the plant, which amounted to 622 tons, resulted in a quantity of 64 tons of refined cotton oil, explaining that the company is constantly advertising for pressing and manufacturing cotton seeds or oil sunflower for the benefit of Third parties with the aim of benefiting from the plant’s energy and preventing it from stopping.

The value of sales during the past year amounted to 13 billion and 804 million pounds of all products, while the value of the estimated profits achieved amounted to 850 million pounds.
